Today Sir Chris Hoy MBE, one of Great Britain’s most successful Olympic athletes, visited Evans Cycles, Sutton Coldfield store where he shared some his cycling stories aspirations in his Antarctic challenge, answered questions and gave inspiring advice to a packed store of budding cyclists, who then had the chance to get jerseys, caps and pictures signed by Sir Chris whilst sharing their cycling stories with the 11 times world champion.
Sir Chris also had some words of advice for our nine Sutton Coldfield Scouts who started their sponsored 3786-mile static cycle ride from Sutton Park’s Jamboree Stone, the site of the 1957 Sutton Coldfield World Scout Jamboree, to Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve West Virginia, the venue of the 2019 World Scout Jamboree.
Always keen to support community projects Evans Cycles are doing all they can to help the nine Scouts in their efforts to raise the £31,000 they need to fund the jamboree adventure, freely providing all the equipment required for the lengthy cycle. Today they managed to ride 130-miles!
